About Polar Bear Plunge
On Tempe’s coldest day in 20+ years, 85 Polar Bears earned their bragging rights by jumping into the icy 58-degree swimming pool for the 2013 Polar Bear Plunge. The actual temperature reading the morning of the plunge was 25 degrees. Brrrrrrrrrrr!
Despite the frigid weather, the excitement among the participants could be felt by all. The generosity of the Polar Bears and Teddy Bears exceeded our wildest expectations – we raised $5,850!
In The Polar Bear Plunge’s inaugural year, 79 Polar Bears took the plunge while another 100 plus Teddy Bears cheered them on. In 2012, the event raised a record-breaking $4,255 for Tempe Special Olympics!
Be sure to join us for the 3rd Annual Polar Bear Plunge at 9am on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014!
